About Me

I am a trauma-informed practitioner that recognises how life experiences — particularly trauma and chronic stress — are held in both the mind and body. I hold formal training in psychology, a Master’s degree in Social Work, and a doctorate specialising in parental mental health and child wellbeing.

Alongside my academic training, I bring extensive practice experience working with parents affected by substance use and complex mental health challenges, as well as specialist social work experience supporting Carers (foster and adoptive), individuals with developmental trauma, childhood adversity, and attachment-related difficulties. I have also worked closely with marginalised communities, these experiences having deeply shaped my understanding of the intersection of trauma, socio-political contexts, and how systems impact individuals' subjective experience of themselves and the world around them.

I have worked over 20 years with parents, caregivers, children and families experiencing stress, trauma, and relational challenges, providing evidence-based, developmentally informed care that addresses both psychological and physiological aspects of wellbeing.

My clinical approach is informed by advanced training in somatic experiencing, complex trauma, and Trauma Centre, Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY). These approaches are due to be complimented by my upcoming training in Neuroaffective TOUCH (NAT™). In my private practice, I offer a gentle, compassionate and attuned approach where lived experience is met with care, respect, and curiosity. I understand that stress and trauma are not just cognitive experiences — they can live in the body, shape our relationships, and influence our sense of safety in the world. My approach works with the nervous system, emotional patterns, and relational dynamics in order to support healing through both evidence-based practice and embodied, relational care.

My philosophy of care

I am committed to offering care that is both deeply human and clinically based. The space I hold  is grounded in the belief that healing occurs in the presence of safety, compassion, and respectful connection - acknowledging the subjectivity of this experience.

I look to work in collaboratively with those I support, focusing on building resilience, restoring a sense of agency and strengthening connection — within yourself and your relationships with those around you.

My work ethic is firmly embedded in creating safety and a relational space that supports nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and deeper connections, honouring the wisdom of your body alongside psychological and relational healing - acknowledging the complexities that this may bring without judgement.

My intention is to offer a safe, compassionate space where you feel supported, included, understood, and empowered alongside care that feels both deeply human and firmly rooted in clinical understanding.
